Oblique StrategiesOblique Strategies, Volume 1 was produced by on January 1st 2007 on a chilly Monday in Chicago IL. The concept of producing a book of photography began as a way of getting images off of OUVYT.com and into a printed form. The theme Oblique Strategies was inspired by the set of published cards created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt first published in 1975. Each card contains a phrase or cryptic remark which can be used to break a deadlock or dilemma situation. One of the strategies “Discover the Recipes You Are Using and Abandon Them” was chosen as the inaugural volume title because the book was created during the first day of the new year and it seemed relevant appropriate and poetic. The book is meant not so much to tell a story through pictures, but to create stunning, compelling and sometimes awkward comparisons of photography from OUVYT.com A slide show will appear here shortly. |
